The Perf File 2007

Our season has already well started... with some great performances during the qualifying sesssion!
No doubt we will have a wonderful season in the CVGPi, in french: Internet Virtual Championship on the Grand Prix games...

Presentation of the performance file

As you may have read in the rules of our season, a performance file is allowed for the Grand Prix.
It means that you can use it for each session (qualifying, races) or not. The decision is yours.
The performance file has an incidence only on the CC (computer car), the cars in the game which are controlled by the computer.
It has no effect on your own performance.
Some drivers would prefer to drive with it to be more stimulated, or to have less latecomers during the races.
Some others would prefer to drive without it, because they are bothered with the CC.

How to use it?

To use a perf file, precise it in your GPxPatch software, in the "GPxSet" tab.
Be careful:
Each time your GP4 game will be launched with the performance file to load, the names of your drivers in the game and so, your session code for the championship, will be replaced by the ones of the performance file.
No code session written in your game files will, without exception, mean downgrading (DC). So, be careful!
Either you manually add the session code in your driver name each in the game time you launch the game: tiring!
Either you open the performance file itself (with notepad) and edit your driver name by adding the session code after your name/or your team name.
N.B.: Editing the names in a performance file doesn't change the checksums. That's why it is possible to add the code in the file.
Hence, the game will start with the names and the necessary code.
You will only have to change it for the following Grand Prix.
Of course, using the perf file change the checksum of your files.
That is why there are many checksums series allowed, some with the perf file, some without it.
You can look after all the allowed checksums in the rules.

The 2007 perf files

For our 2007 season, we have had the presentation of 2 carsets (A and B) a week ago (see article: /article-158.php).
Like the performance file, the using of these carset is facultative. But of course, it's better to immerse more deeper in the CVGPi!
That's why you will see in the downloading section of the website that there are 2 different performance files.
They are in reality equivalent: the values are the same, and so the checksums will be the same in the game, the change is only about the names.
In each performance file, you will have the names for the teams and their drivers in the same order than in the carset (A or B).

Have a good season!

Good use of this performance files! And have a good 2007 season with us! ;)
